Help those affected by Hurricane Matthew – Red Cross Appeal

After Hurricane Matthew devastated Haiti, parts of the Caribbean, and caused severe flooding in the southeastern United States, Ria Money Transfer has set up a global appeal page with the Red Cross to help raise funds.

The aftermath of Matthew has left a large humanitarian crisis in its wake, with more than a million people affected. In Haiti, 1,000 deaths were recorded.

Ria’s Jorge Ibarraran, who has been involved in coordinating the appeal with the Red Cross says, “The Red Cross working hard to ensure that emergency supplies including food, water, and medicine are made available to those in need.

“Setting up this page is the least we can do, and I would like to thank everyone who has donated already, and urge others to take action as well,” he tells the Ria Blog.

People can make a donation below or follow this link. As well as this, customers sending money to Haiti will pay zero fees until October 21, 2016, through Ria Stores in Europe.

“We believe that the small actions of many can make a big difference,” Jorge continues. “The people of Haiti and those affected by Hurricane Matthew need the support of the international community. Even if it’s only a few dollars or euros, every donation counts.”
